Mushindamo District was gazetted as a district through Statutory Instrument No. 39 of 2016. Thereafter, the responsible Ministry, then Ministry of Local Government and Housing, through SI 45 of the same year (2016) established Mushindamo Town Council which is headed by the Council Chairperson. The Council Secretary on the other hand is the Chief Executive Officer who is in charge of the administrative functions of the Council. Supporting schools, CDF bursaries, early childhood education, community learning centres, and teacher support initiatives.
